Mindelo, 18 Sept. (Inforpress) – The Rector of the University of Cabo Verde t (Uni-CV) said today in Mindelo that free higher education is “a relief” for the institution, given its “high dependency on tuition” paid by students.
Astigilda Silveira spoke after having invested the new Vice-President for Strategic Planning, Evaluation and Institutional Transformation, Maria Zenaida Leite.
The Rector stated that free of charge applies to bachelor’s courses, vocational higher education courses and the integrated master’s course in medicine.
” For the University of Cabo Verde, this is a very good thing, because we depend on 64.2% of tuition fees paid by students, while the State contributed 32% to our operating budget. So it’s a relief,” she said.
