Doraleh’s versatile port handled 2,700 electric vehicles.

DJIBOUTI, 11 October 2026 (#ADI) – The Doraleh Multipurpose Port has announced that it has successfully handled and unloaded 2,700 electric vehicles, both for import and transhipment.

The operation reflects Djibouti’s growing role in transporting these vehicles to East Africa. Units destined for the Djiboutian market were disembarked for import, the others transited through the terminal before returning to other ports in the region.

The port stated that it remained “committed to providing efficient port services” and “strengthening regional commercial connectivity”.

The transshipment segment, which makes it possible to redistribute cargo to other ports in the region, is one of the growth relays displayed by Djibouti.

Located at the southern exit of the capital, Doraleh Multipurpose Port (DMP) is one of the main infrastructures of a country that has made its position, at the entrance of the Red Sea, a pillar of its economy.
