« The creation “Bonzenga” made in an ochre hue drawing towards mustard yellow, we wanted to demonstrate a remarkable technical mastery of the structured pleated, combined with sets of spiral sculptural volumes Jemima Zeka Hunda said.
The work is also distinguished by a careful work of bead hanging at the edges, bringing finesse and refinement to the whole creation.
With ‘Bonzenga’, the designer has proposed an artistic and contemporary piece, in which the games of materials, volumes and colours help to highlight an elegant and assertive representation of Congolese women.
This work reflects the approach of Jemima Zeka Hunda, who relies on dress creation to express an aesthetic vision of Congolese women, between elegance, sophistication and character.
Through its creation, Jemima Zeka Hunda wanted to be part of a dynamic of contemporary creation that places Congolese women at the heart of artistic and dress expression.
In her creations, she explores shapes, volumes, materials and artisanal details in order to offer an aesthetic that is both elegant and expressive.
The work ‘‘Bonzenga’ illustrates this with a particularly worked construction.
Its ochre colour, close to mustard yellow, gives it a strong visual identity, while the structured pleat and spiral volumes give the silhouette a sculptural dimension.
The bead carefully realized and suspended at the edges completes this composition, bringing movement and a touch of sophistication to the whole.
This piece, Jemima Zeka Hunda, highlights a vision of Congolese women combining beauty, elegance, pride and self-assertion.
‘‘Bonzenga’ thus appears as a meeting between technical know-how and artistic expression, testifying to the place that fashion can occupy in valuing Congolese identity and creativity.
